Making ordinary kids extraordinary dancers!
KRISTA HARRINGTON has had 35 years of dance education beginning at age 3. From ages 6-19, Krista traveled with her mom and sister around the U.S. taking instruction from the top teachers in their respective fields! To this day, she continues to study with them and also teaches with some of them! At age 13, she started teaching for her mom. Like her sister, she too was awarded various dance scholarships through the Montana Dance Arts Association. With her mom wanting to retire, Krista made the decision to stay in Butte to keep the Dance School alive. From 1997-2002, Krista commuted to the University of Montana - Western to receive a degree in Secondary Education (English, History and Photography) and home again to run DD&TA. After student teaching in the public schools, Krista decided her main love was teaching dance. With an emphasis on discipline, respect, and hard work, Krista has brought DD&TA to a new level of SUPERIORITY. Her Competitive Companies are known throughout the U.S. for their excellence and have achieved many high National Awards, placing in the TOP SEVEN STUDIOS (out of 150 attending the Advanced WCDE NATIONALS). She, personally, has won numerous choreography awards and she has been instrumental in helping her students thrive in the dance world. Krista has put "BUTTE" on the Dance Map! Krista travels to various conventions throughout the year to continue her own education and she is a guest teacher in various locations around the U.S.
KYMEE HARRINGTON has had 35 years of dance education beginning at age 4 under the instruction of her mom, Dixie Harrington. With her mother and sister, Kymee has had the advantage of traveling throughout the U.S. to various dance conventions and workshops. Starting at age 7, Kymee was studying with "THE BEST OF THE BEST" in the Dance World. She was awarded several scholarships through the Montana Dance Association. At age 14, she began teaching for her mom. At age 20 she was hired by "ETC" (ESPECIALLY TAP CHICAGO) a Chicago based performance company. Along with performing in Chicago, she taught dance in the Chicago suburbs and in Indiana. In the year 2000, Kymee auditioned and was hired by Celebrity Cruise Lines based out of Florida. For several years she danced while traveling around the world. She has settled back in Butte with her husband Jake and 2 children, and is happily sharing her dance knowledge with our Butte dancers. Kymee has been instrumental in helping our graduates audition for professional dance jobs. She heads our recreational program and helps with our competitive program. She also manages all of our bookkeeping and handles all technical aspects for our website and slide shows. Kymee still travels to various conventions around the U.S. to enhance her own education.
SHAYNA DUDDEN began her dance career at Dynamic Dance at the age of 4. She was always an amazing student with the ability to learn quickly and accurately from the start. Shayna was among a tap trio who were the very first National Champions from Dynamic Dance in 2005. Since then, Shayna has played a major role in helping to lead the Dynamic Companies to many prestigious titles and awards, including numerous scholarships she's attained herself. In 2013, she began teaching for the Dynamic Dance & Tumbling Academy. Having high expectations for herself, Shayna also expects her students to work on their highest level and encourages them to learn and do the absolute best they can do. We are thrilled that Shayna has chosen to continue as a member of our teaching staff!
JENICA HIATT began dance at the age of 5 in Heber City, Utah. Following the advice of a local dance director, she enrolled simultaneously with the Center Stage dance studio and Jaqueline College School of Ballet. But it wasn’t until the age of 7 when her father took her to the Nutcracker that she fell in love with ballet. From that point on her focus was ballet. At age 12 she danced full time at Jaqueline College School of Ballet and made the Utah Regional Ballet company at age 13. There she performed in a variety of productions, including Sleeping Beauty, George Balanchine’s Serenade, Coppelia, La Coquette, and the annual Nutcracker. She has performed in many repertoires and venues throughout the country, in addition to an international tour through China. After Utah Regional Ballet she attended Brigham Young University and was on their ballet company. Jenica moved to Butte in 2016 with her husband and now 5 children. She began teaching dance at the age of 17 and comes to us having 28 years of dance experience.
